Many clients tell us they wish to rent a holiday villa or apartment in walking distance of a food shop or restaurant. Some have small children and want the peace of mind of knowing that they are close to facilities. Others don’t want to have to drive after a drink in the evenings. Yet they still want to be in the countryside, in self-catering rather than hotel accommodation. Interesting. On the Greek islands I have found that those who stay in or near a village have the more memorable experience. But, most people when advance planning from home think they want to be in or near a main town.
So my favourite saying: Few people find their way to our village; those who do, don’t want to leave.
