French Railways run a motorail service as far as Nice (the service down
through Italy was discontinued several years ago).
Alternatively you can travel to Alessandria and Livorno in Italy from the Dutch town of 's-Hertogenbosch - visit http://www.autoslaaptrein.nl/nl/index.html . N.B. The service which they used to run to Bologna is not operating for 2010. Livorno is particularly useful for clients staying in Tuscany.
